Since 1970 Sciavolino has been exploring “the goldsmith’s world” creating small-sculptures in gold and silver, which he defines as human body furniture. His interest for the human body furniture is the one that allows him to study, recognize and understand them as small objects in which plastic and expressive values of sculptures confirm their prominence, but always keeping a correct functionality. Once the human body furniture is extrapolated from the body it can assume the aspect and plastic value of small dimensions sculptures. In synthesis Sciavolino’s ring is a ring which fits on the finger of a hand, while being a sculpture.
